Computing technology is now so entwined with everyday life that studies of human computer interaction (HCI) are also studies of human culture. 

This workshop will draw on various perspectives from critical and cultural theory to discuss new concerns in HCI such as aesthetics, affect, and the social impact of technology. It will also explore how critical theory can be related to design.
